I hate it when they say, ?He gave his life for his country.? They don?t die for the honor and glory of their country. We kill them.
Rear Admiral Gene R. LaRocque
Sizewell B (Suffolk) was the last of the UK’s current 14 nuclear power stations to be built (1994). Their inefficiency, expense and danger had become so obvious by then that plans for other reactors were shelved. Shut Down Sizewell has resolved to bring about the early closure of B and the older Sizewell A, as well as to resolutely oppose new nuclear build. Bradwell nuclear power station in Essex is now being de-fuelled.
The stations represent a considerable risk to the area due to possible malfunction, leakage, or attack by hostile forces. The nuclear trains that carry radioactive waste from Sizewell B and Bradwell are also vulnerable to mishap: not least because they travel through major towns and cities. Sizewell is still creating waste that no one knows how to get rid of.
