The Bush doctrine of ‘preventive war’- eliminating ‘threats’ before they are ‘fully formed’- is highly illegal under international law. The UK has not officially endorsed the US approach of claiming the right to act outside of international law. It is important that our government condemns the illegal doctrines that are laid out in the National Security Strategy. The House of Commons Committee on Foreign Affairs is supposed to challenge government on our behalf. You can read their reports on their website (link on www.parliament.uk).
